Experiencing Fashion Photography. Essay by Andrea Kollnitz
Fashion photographs, both everywhere and far detached. I first encountered them as a child in the shape of my mother’s German women’s magazines. Shyly devouring every image, wondering about what grown-up life in grown-up bodies might be like. Later glossy luxurious fashion magazines, hardly ever purchased, mainly found, seen, touched, glanced at in public spaces, at hair dressers, places where wo/men are indulging into becoming more perfected, idealized versions of themselves. Inspired by model images. Essay by Andrea Kollnitz

Behind Our Screens. An interview with Fabio Donghi
Today, fashion is primarily consumed digitally. Not only is the online consumption of goods constantly increasing, but also the dissemination of fashion shows, reportages and documentaries are daily doors into the industry for both professionals and fashionistas. Online platforms like Vogue.com are therefore unique gateways and places where we live fashion. However, what appears to us as immediate and free content, is actually the result of hidden labour, economic transactions and technological innovation. We interviewed Fabio Donghi, founder of INDIGITAL.TV, one of the major online platforms and digital content production providers for fashion. He leads us inside his unique path and story, explaining what is behind our daily free consumption of fashion online. By Marco Pecorari.

Do or die. Interview and Cover Story with Noomi Rapace
Read the interview for our anniversary issue with one of the actresses getting the most interesting parts in international movies right now. To no one’s surprise, as she’s become known for her hard work developing her characters. If the background story isn’t comprehensive enough, she’ll develop or create her own stories. The women she portrays can be fragile, broken and scarred, but when Noomi embodies them they are never reduced to victims. Photography by Camilla Akrans, fashion by editor-in-chief Robert Rydberg and interview by Antonia Nessen.

Out Now! The Second Print Issue of Contributor is here
Happiness ahead. The new print issue from Contributor is here. So what is the best way to describe why the magazine looks the way it does? One of our starting points was the sect: individuals that form a group and the mentality that holds the group together. A kind of coming together under the same umbrella, like the people who gathered around Warhol, Gertrude Stein or Jesus and his disciples. You put a person, a religion or an ideology on a pedestal. A luminous leader who manages to convince everyone to commit mass suicide in order to be able to get on a spaceship with an unknown destination, since the universe is expanding and the apocalypse is near. Fashion is as much an armor, as a disguise or an expression. It offers support and shelter to both bodies and identities, much like a persona around a famous person, a sect leader or a religious figure.
