Now I’m finally back in London after days of stressing around Paris fashion week. Even though it’s been a season of playing it safe I’ve seen some fantastical collections. Designer duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren was really on the forefront with their pastel fantasy (a kind of surrealist high school prom design), having spent the last couple of months cutting ball gowns with a chain saw. One of Viktor & Rolf’s darling muses, a pregnant RĂ³isin Murphy performed at the back of the runway but sometimes the tulle crisped so loud I could hear it at my uncomfortable front row seat amongst the other paparazzi photographers. Once again the designers had come up with a conceptual collection, Spring/Summer 2010 being one of their most eye-catching to date. By the look of it some of the collection’s most wearable cocktail gowns will give Balmain and Lanvin some competition on the a red carpet.
